K-LOVE is a contemporary Christian music radio network in the United States, operated by the non-profit EMF Broadcasting. The network's flagship station is KLOV (89.3 FM), licensed to Winchester, Oregon with a transmitter centered in Roseburg. K-LOVE makes heavy use of broadcast translators to spread the signal across much of the country. As of November 2006, the network lists 124 transmitters of various power levels (though some may be duplicates). 12% of the network's annual budget is dedicated to "signal expansion and improvement."
K-LOVE plays artists such as Mercyme, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Newsboys, among others.
Air 1, K-LOVE's co-owned network, primarily plays Christian rock.
History K-LOVE began as a single radio station, KCLB, in 1982, in Santa Rosa, California. In 1988, coverage expanded as the transmitter was moved to a better location following a fire. Encouraged by public support, KCLB become K-LOVE Radio in the same year, and additional stations were opened.[1]
